Slim Jim Holster - Inventory Number: LEA 461

This is an excellent example of a classic “Slim Jim” holster, popular during the mid-19th century and especially among soldiers and civilians during the Civil War period. Crafted of thick, blackened leather with a narrow, form-fitting profile, this holster was designed to carry large-frame percussion revolvers such as the Colt 1851 Navy, Colt 1860 Army, or similar sidearms.

This example retains its full belt loop intact. The leather shows nice age toning age and field wear with a beautiful untouched surface and honest patina from decades of storage or carry. Stitching is visible, and the body has naturally hardened, typical of original wartime leather.

An evocative and authentic piece of frontier and Civil War-era history, ideal for any collector of antique firearms accessories or period leather gear.
