The Political Manual, Comprising Numerous Important Documents Connected With The Political History Of America, Compiled From Official Records, With Biographical Sketches And Comments. By J.M. Hiatt. Indianapolis, IND: Asher & Adams, Publishers. 1864.” Hardbound 240-page book with various American political documents of historical significance, and biographies with woodcuts of Presidents and other notable figures like Ulysses S. Grant. The last document in the book is the speech of Alexander Stevens of Georgia in opposition to secession, delivered November 14, 1860. There is some foxing throughout and some edge wear to the cover, but otherwise is in good and tight condition. An interesting wartime political book.
