United States Marine Corps Embroidered Insignia / SOLD

Very rare pre-war Marine Corps officer’s hat insignia. An eagle and anchor are embroidered with gold bullion, with red yarn highlights at the eagle’s eye and tongue. The blue wool background measures 2” wide. Formerly of the collection of J. Duncan Campbell, author of American Military Headgear Insignia. A scarce piece of USMC memorabilia. 

Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
