An excellent example of a hard rubber United States Navy enlisted man's button Albert# NA-136-A2. Button dates from circa 1855-1862. The vertical anchor hard rubber enlisted Navy button is much much scarcer than the horizontal anchor version. Backmark reads " * NOVELTY RUBBER CO. GOODYEAR'S PATENT. 1851. ". Dark near black finish. Button measures 31.51mm.

Button card was de-accessed from the “The National Civil War Life Museum” of Fredericksburg, VA which featured thousands of items pertaining to the daily life of the Civil War Soldier and the era.
