This is a matched pair of ornate officer’s dress epaulettes. Each epaulette features. A padded shoulder crescent covered in gold bullion, thick twisted bullion fringe, scarlet red silk lining and leather backing, a brass attachment bar clearly marked: “HORSTMANN BROTHERS & ALLIEN – NEW YORK” and gilded Federal Artillery shield button with eagle and olive branch

Such epaulettes were commonly worn by officers in both regular U.S. Army and state militia units. The backing pads and attachment tongues remain intact, making this pair a display-ready set with fantastic visual appeal.
