Battle of Gettysburg
Excavated Virginia three-piece staff coat button. The face depicts the Virginia coat of arms in very high detail, with a large amount of gilt remaining. More gilt could be exposed when cleaned if desired. The back retains the shank and the backmark “C. WENDLINGER. / RICHMOND VA.” Listed as VA261 in Tice’s button book. A very nice southern manufactured Virginia button. From a collection of local Gettysburg Relics recovered in the 1950’s. Accompanied by certificate of authenticity.
Comes housed in a display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
