2nd Model Smith and Wesson “Army” Revolver - Inventory Number: HAN 330
Excellent condition example of the Smith & Wesson No.2 "Old Army" tip-up 6 shot revolver. This pistol is chambered in a .32 Rimfire. The top of the barrel on this example is deeply marked "SMITH. & WESSON. SPRINGFIELD.MASS.". The circumference of the cylinder is marked "PATENTED APRIL 3, 1855, JULY 5, 1859 & DEC. 18, 1860.". The 6" octagonal barrel has a full-length top rib. The front sight is a rounded German silver blade fixed to the top of the barrel rib. The rear sight is shallow "V" grooved into the top spring. The bottom of the grip frame is marked "39,743". The grips are smooth wood on a flared square butt grip frame in excellent condition with original varnish throughout. The inside of the grip is a matched serial to the gun "39,743". This gun would make a nice collector’s piece.
