Civil War officer’s full-dress epaulettes in the original cardboard case. The case is covered with textured red paper and retains two paper labels that read “Wm. H. Smith & Co. Maiden Lane, New York. Importers and Dealers in Military Goods, Guns, Pistols, Cutlery etc.” The label on the lid of the case is marked “1st Lieut” in handwritten ink. The epaulettes are in excellent condition and constructed of gold bullion fabric with bullion tassels hanging from brass crescents. The underside of each epaulette is lined with padded gold silk and retain the original attachment hooks. The epaulettes are accompanied by a pair of white cotton dress gloves tightened at the wrists by two mother of pearl buttons. A wonderful complete set for a Civil War officer’s display.
