Civil War colonel’s full-dress epaulettes in the original Japanned tin case. The epaulettes are in very good condition and constructed of gold bullion fabric with bullion tassels hanging from brass crescents. The underside of each epaulette is lined with padded gold silk with some tears and areas of loss, and one attachment hook is missing from each. Pinned to each epaulette is a colonel’s eagle insignia made from embroidered billion and sequins, with red accents to the eye and beak. The tin carrying case is in good condition with some scratches, dings, and dents, with a near-mint Japanned finish on the interior. A wonderful complete set for a Civil War officer’s display.
