Civil War Regulation “Mix” Cup “B & O Railroad” - Inventory Number: CAM 512
Civil War Tin "Mix Style" Cup - One of the scarcer items of the Civil War was this "Mix Style" cup. Measures approximately 4 1/4" in opening diameter and 2" tall. The sides are smoothly tapered forming the shape of a classic coffee cup. In excellent condition and a rare find. This example was property of the “B & O” Railroad and so marked on the base of the cup. The Baltimore & Ohio railroad had a rich and lengthy history, especially during the John Brown Raid and the war years. At the outset of the Civil War, the B&O possessed 236 locomotives, 128 passenger coaches, 3,451 rail cars and 513 miles (826 km) of railroad, all in states south of the Mason–Dixon line. A desirable pattern cup coupled with provenance of this famous railway!
