Civil War Soldier’s Stencil Kit / SOLD

Pocket-sized Civil War stencil kit comprised of a soldered tin case measuring 2 ¼’ in height with two interior compartments. The smaller compartment contains a corked glass bottle with instructional label for “S. M. SPENCER’S STENCIL INDELIBLE INK.” The larger compartment contains an unpunched brass and tin stencil and natural bristle application brush. These stencil kits were popular with Civil War soldiers for marking their equipment and personal effects. An excellent complete example.
