Battle of Gettysburg
Excavated Confederate 23mm Infantry button of two-piece construction with a plain Roman “I” on the face. The back is detached and pushed into the center of the button. A circular section of butternut uniform cloth is remarkably preserved around the shank. The face exhibits a dark green and purple patina. A fascinating relic from a Confederate infantry soldier. From a collection of local Gettysburg Relics recovered in the 1950’s. Accompanied by certificate of authenticity.
Comes housed in a display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
