Battle of Gettysburg
Excavated Confederate Infantry button of local manufacture, cast from bronze with a plain Roman ‘I” on the face. The shank is the drilled wedge type. The button measures 23mm and has a smooth dark bronze patina. Listed as CSI275A1 in Tice’s button book. An excellent example of a standard issue Confederate foot soldier’s button. From a collection of local Gettysburg Relics recovered in the 1950’s. Accompanied by certificate of authenticity.
Comes housed in a display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
