    Confederate Officer’s Ledger Lieut. Tho. W. Martin – Co. H. 10th VA Cavalry – 4th Brigade February 10th 1863 - Inventory Number: IDE 240 / SOLD

    The regiment fought at Gettysburg with 236 troopers.

    Pocket diary with great ink identification on inside fly page.  There are several other inscritions from Martin and an additional stenciled ID..  There are numerous extries of accounting including sale of a pistol, whiskey trades for horse, mentions of the wounding of a comrade, taxes, punishment etc.  

    The 10th Virginia Cavalry served in Hampton's, W.H.F. Lee's, Chambliss' and Beale's brigades in the Army of Northern Virginia. After fighting in the Seven Days Battles, it saw action at Antietam, Fredericksburg, Brandy Station, Upperville, Gettysburg, Bristoe, and Mine Run. It was involved in the Wilderness Campaign, the defense of Richmond and Petersburg, and the Appomattox Courthouse operations.  

    Comes housed in 12 x 8 riker display case with red velvet and descriptive card.
