Kentucky Officer’s Grouping Lieutenant R.H. Pierson Served with the 1st Kentucky State Guard And 11th Kentucky Infantry - Inventory Number: GRO 076
This wonderful Kentucky grouping consists of: The original military stencil of Pierson with the unit designation of “Co. B 1st KY. S.G.” His double bordered Smith’s patent 1st Lieut. Of Infantry shoulder bars as well as a pair of cloth and bullion infantry 1st Lieut. bars in good condition with blue velvet fields. There is also a nice assortment of 6 veteran’s medals which includes: a ladder badge for his service in the 11th Kentucky infantry and a scarce federal shield Iowa Veteran’s association medal, where he resided following the war. A very nice assortment of relics from a state where you seldom encounter artifacts.
Robert H. Pierson. Enlisted on 6/12/1864 at Frankfort, KY as a 1st Lieutenant. On 6/12/1864 he was commissioned into "B" Co. KY 1st Capital Guards Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 1/12/1865 at Frankfort, KY. On the 11th KY roster online, he shows with the spelling: Robert H. Pearson - Enlisted on 10/21/1861 at Calhoon, KY as a Private. On 12/9/1861 he mustered into "F" Co. KY 11th Infantry. He was listed as: Wounded. He was discharged for wounds.
