“Mac Mason” Virginia Militia Plate - Inventory Number: CON 363 / SOLD
One of the best examples of a militia plate we’ve offered. This example was from the renown Mac Mason collection and bears his readily recognizable script on the plate. The Face bears a painted inscription “Malvern Hill”. The reverse states: VA Militia Troops. Malvern Hill – Found May – 1963”. The convex plate is in pristine excavated condition with no scratching or bends. The reverse retains the belt loop and a pair of pins, as well as the tongue. It would be near impossible to improve on this example!
Comes housed in 6 inch x 8 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
