Battle of Gettysburg
Excavated North Carolina 23mm one piece button with “Sunburst” design. These were struck locally of thin gauge sheet copper with a loop shank that was inadequately soldered to the back, resulting in their loss after very little use. The face of this button has a slick, dark copper colored patina, and the reverse is missing the shank and remains in uncleaned condition. A very fine North Carolina Sunburst. From a collection of local Gettysburg Relics recovered in the 1950’s. Accompanied by certificate of authenticity.
Comes housed in a display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
