Officer’s Sword - Inventory Number: SWO 247
Militia officer’s sword as commonly depicted in photos of early war officers. This example is in excellent condition and features a Phrygian knight’s head pommel cap and widespread eagle guard. The grip is constructed of fluted bone with a double strand chain guard. The blade is profusely engraved with floral scrolls, a panoply of arms and an eagle. The blade retains near mint frosting with great original polish. The brass scabbard is in very good condition and has ornamental additions the length of the scabbard. A beautiful example.
