Original Civil War Union Enlisted Infantryman’s Belt with “US” Buckle - Inventory Number: LEA 459
This is an excellent example of an original Civil War-era U.S. infantry belt complete with its oval “US” regulation belt plate. The plate is a standard issue stamped brass face with a lead-filled back and arrowhead brass hooks. The belt itself is constructed of black bridle leather and retains its original brass belt keeper.
The belt shows honest field wear and age-appropriate patina, with dry surface crazing to the leather and period wear to the reverse lead filler on the plate. The “US” buckle remains firmly attached and displays a beautiful, aged brass finish.
A textbook example of Union-issue equipment carried by enlisted soldiers during the American Civil War—ideal for collectors of military antiques, or museum displays.
