    The Town Pump" 1862 – John Rogers - Inventory Number: SCU 046 / SOLD

    A young woman stops at the town pump with her bucket, passing time pleasantly with a uniformed soldier on his way to camp. The Town Pump, also known as “En Route for the War”, was one of the most admired works of art in the National Academy of Design exhibition of April 1862. 

    Standing 14 inches tall by 11 inches wide by 7 ½ inches deep; appears to be original paint or a very old wash as the paint shows paint crackle on its patina; small amount of flaking is present without structural damage.
