10th Corps Badge

 

An original Union Army corps badge from the American Civil War, representing the 2nd Division of the 10th Army Corps. This rare example is constructed of gold gilded brass with a white woolen insert- indicating the division. The reverse retains the original “T Bar” pin and open clasp. The corps’ distinctive four-pointed fort design. The 10th Corps, composed largely of troops serving in the Department of the South, played a significant role in operations along the Atlantic Coast and in the Petersburg Campaign. An excellent artifact of Union military insignia.

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with red velvet and descriptive card.
