11th Pennsylvania Cavalry 3rd Reunion Badge
Beautiful and highly desirable 3rd Reunion badge for the 11th Pennsylvania Cavalry, featuring a wonderfully detailed crossed-saber motif beneath a horseshoe-shaped medallion. The central brass shield is crisply stamped:
“3rd REUNION – 11th PA. CAV.”
The design incorporates two Model 1860 cavalry sabers crossed behind the shield—an iconic symbol of the regiment’s distinguished mounted service.
A vibrant gold reunion ribbon connects the badge to its top bar, which displays the Pennsylvania state seal in raised relief, flanked by classical decorative elements. The combination of brass, white metal, and bold yellow ribbon makes for an especially striking, display-ready piece.
The 11th Pennsylvania Cavalry (also known as “Harlan’s Light Cavalry”) served with distinction in the Department of Virginia and North Carolina, conducting extensive scouting, picketing, and raiding operations throughout the war. Reunion badges from this regiment are encountered far less frequently than those of larger infantry organizations.
A superb, clean example with excellent color, strong detail, and no repairs—an outstanding addition to any cavalry or GAR/reunion badge collection.
Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with blue velvet and descriptive card.
