1848 Election Flask – Inventory Number: BOT 102 / SOLD A great aqua General Taylor Never Surrenders George Washington Father of His Country Quart flask! Featuring a strong impression and lots of whittle, this 7.5″ blown pontiled flask was made for General Taylor’s 1848 Presidential campaign.  It features a classical Greek type bust of George Washington with toga on one side in an oval panel.  “The Father of His Country” is embossed in an arch above the bust.  On the opposite side is a bust of Zachary Taylor, with “Gen. Zach Taylor” is embossed.  Nicely colored with tiny seed bubbles.  It has an applied sloping collared lip.  It stands approximately 8.5 inches tall, is approximately 5 ¼” wide at the widest point and approximately 2.5 inches side to side.  Very nice historic early American flask!
