Civil War–era instructional manual issued for the proper care and maintenance of the Model 1863 Rifle Musket. Published in 1863 by the Government Printing Office and adopted by the War Department for the governance of United States troops.

 

This manual provided Union soldiers with standardized instructions on maintenance, inspection, and cleaning procedures for one of the most widely used infantry arms of the later war years. Retains its original blue paper wraps.

 

A handsome and historically significant companion piece to any Model 1863 Springfield rifle or advanced Civil War arms collection.
