Federal paper-wrapped .54 caliber elongated ball cartridge often attributed to the Allegheny Arsenal.

 

The cartridge is in excellent condition. This .54 caliber cartridge has its pressed bullet and powder charge entirely wrapped with light brown paper with the tail at the base. The paper is very clean and tight with no scuffing or surface grime. No rips or tears. A complete example of a Civil War .54 caliber paper cartridge.
