Albumen Photo of General John A. Steiner – Inventory Number: ALB 211 / Sold Rare Baltimore Officer Albumen – This hand-colored image of Steiner as Lieut. Colonel of the 1st PHB. With a medium blue uniform, and cradling his staff officer’s sword.  Housed in an original gold gilt frame with Ink identification on the back of the frame. Born 3/16/1816 in Frederick, MD.  Steiner enlisted on 10/22/1861 as a Major at 45 years old he was commissioned into Field & Staff of Maryland’s 1st Potomac Home Brigade Infantry.  Promotions: Lt Colonel 2/6/1863, Colonel 3/13/1865 by Brevet.  Brig-General 3/13/1865 by Brevet (For meritorious service). He was discharged on 7/16/1863.  Died 4/20/1902 in Baltimore, MD.   Inventory Number: ALB 211 / Sold
