Description

Artillery Gimlet –  Inventory Number: ART 353 / SOLD Gimlets were used to remove broken friction primers or other obstructions from the vent of a cannon tube.  They were also referred to as a Vent Punch Wire, being they could also serve the purpose of puncturing the powder bag.  It measures 13 ½” long and the diameter of the ring is 2 ¼”, this would be the size used on field pieces.   Inventory Number: ART 353 / SOLD
