Bowie Knife, The Gold Seekers Protector – Inventory Number: EDG 007 / SOLD Manson “Gold Strike” bowie knife with scabbard outstanding example of Manson “California Gold Rush” period bowie knife having an 5 1/2 Sheffield steel fighting tapered bowie blade.  One side etched with foliate scroll marked: The Gold Seekers Protector”.  The ricasso stamped: “Manson Sheffield”, with nickel-solver oval cross-guard and bone handles with several hairline break.  Accompanied by original leather scabbard with gilt foliate scrolls and nickel-silver throat and tip.  Overall length 10″, Circa 1848 -1855.  A really nice knife, in beautiful condition.
