Bullet in Wood from Chancellorsville

2-Ring Gardner Bullet Lodged in Tree (11″ Section)

A dramatic and highly desirable bullet-in-wood recovery from the Battle of Chancellorsville, featuring a clearly visible 2-ring Gardner bullet deeply embedded in the natural knot of an 11-inch section of wartime tree. This relic captures the violent moment when a Confederate Gardner projectile struck and buried itself into living timber during the fierce fighting of 1863.

The wood section retains its full battlefield character—aged, hardened, and split naturally around the impact cavity. The Gardner bullet remains firmly seated inside the knot, its base and rings identifiable through the opening created by the force of impact. Bullet-in-wood specimens from major Eastern Theater battlefields are increasingly scarce.

A powerful, natural battlefield relic—perfect for any collector of Chancellorsville artifacts, bullet-in-wood displays, or Confederate ammunition.
