Description
Cartridge Box with War of 1812 Family Label Fragment
An early 19th-century militia cartridge box with leather flap and remnants of an old period label on the back reading:
“This Gun & Equipment / Was carried in the 1812 W[ar] / [by] Henry Thrasher of / Candia N.H.”
The interior retains its twenty-four-hole wooden block, and the back shows evidence of one missing belt loop. The label fragment strongly suggests early War of 1812 family provenance and adds significant history, no research conducted yet.
