Casualty Return of Company F. 120th New York from March 25, 1865 – Inventory Number: DOC 266 / SOLD
Poignant document listing the casualties from Company F of the 120th New York Infantry on March 25, 1865. That action took place at the Watkins’ House outside of Petersburg, a Union advance in conjunction with the Confederate assault on Fort Stedman. The document breaks down the list of casualties into killed, wounded, and missing, and lists the nature of the men’s wounds. One man, Frelinghuysen Predmore, is listed as killed by a shell. Three men are listed as wounded, all by shell fragments. Nine men are listed as missing and “supposed to be taken prisoner,” with one man since returned.
