Cavalry Hat Cord  

 This civil war wool hat cord was issued for use with the Hardee hat and grew popularity amongst soldiers that they often adorn any flat brimmed cap. “Legend has it” that the acorns at the end of the cords were designed to bounce off the brim of the hat to keep riders awake.  A nice example for any cavalry collection.
