Civil War .58 Caliber Cartridge Box

 

Regulation model 1864 cartridge box for the Springfield, Enfield, and contract rifle-muskets.  “U.S.” embossed on the outer flap.  The box retains the original closure tab and brass final.  Both of the roller buckles are present on the bottom of the box.  The inner flap is in nice condition and both ears remain intact.  The belt and shoulder strap loops are intact on the back of the box.   Seams all have strong stitching.  A classic essential infantry accoutrement of the Civil War.
