Civil War Eagle Hat Device – Inventory Number: INS 227 / SOLD 1821 Pattern Eagle Device with silver plating, this example is die-struck and exhibits the arrows tucked into the body, which helps determine its wartime manufacture rather than a pre-war example.  The eagle measures an impressive 3” across and retains both original loops on the back.  Possibly the prettiest of all the American hat devices and a wonderful example!
