Civil  War Gold Sash Buckle – Inventory Number: BEL 356 / SOLD Civil War Lady’s sash buckle made from solid 18kt California gold. These buckles were made for affluent women wishing to publicly signal their support for the Union cause. The buckle is intricately hand engraved with scrollwork and patriotic symbolism. Lady Liberty and Lady justice flank the center of the buckle. At the bottom is an eagle with shield surrounded by American flags. The top is engraved with an angel holding a “Union” streamer. The buckle measures 2 ½” by 1 ½” and is complete with attachment tines. A superb example. Comes housed in a display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.   Inventory Number: BEL 356 / SOLD
