Civil War Navy Fuse Box

 

Original Civil War U.S. Navy artillery fuse box. The leather pouch went on the side of the Civil War naval artilleryman and held his paper time fuses for shells. The closure tab and rear belt loop are missing. The leather is supple and the front of the box under the flap is marked “US.N.Y. BOSTON.” A nice addition to a Civil War navy collection.
