Civil War U.S. Belt Plate  

Excellent Condition with Original Arrowhead Hooks 

 

A beautiful example of a Federal U.S. belt plate, retaining a bright, untouched brass face and its full complement of original arrowhead wire hooks on the reverse. The raised “US” lettering is crisp and well-defined, framed by civil a clean oval border and displaying a warm, golden patina that collectors prize. 

 

The lead-filled back remains solid, with no repairs or alterations, great face and even tone throughout.   Both brass arrow studs and tongue are perfect and firmly affixed in the lead solder fill. An overall excellent example of a staple item in any Civil War collection. 

 

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with blue velvet and descriptive card.
