Colonel of Infantry Shoulder Bars

Colonel of Infantry Shoulder straps, also known as shoulder bars or boards. This pair is in excellent condition with eagles over a light blue velvet background and are backed with black wool. Straps have excellent color, the bullion embroidery, sequin highlights, and the jacqueron wire bordering is also in excellent condition. Perfect for display on an officer’s frock coat or on their own. Field grade shoulder straps are rarer than those of line officers (statistically, regiments had one colonel, one lieutenant colonel, and one major to thirty captains and lieutenants in an infantry regiment,) but were just as much on the fighting line, and sometimes more exposed if they chose to ride their mounts into battle.

Comes housed in 8 inch x 12 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
