Description
Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver
A fine Civil War production Colt Model 1860 Army revolver, serial number 100418, manufactured in 1862 during the height of wartime production.
The barrel is correctly marked: ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA. The cylinder bears the proper two-line patent marking: COLTS PATENT No 418. / PAT. SEPT. 10th 1850. The left side of the frame is stamped: COLTS PATENT. Matching serial number 100,418 is present on the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap, appearing consistent throughout.
This .44 caliber percussion revolver retains an even, untouched gray-brown patina across the metal surfaces, showing honest service wear without signs of modern refinishing. The brass trigger guard displays a deep, natural mustard tone. Markings remain legible and well-defined.
The Model 1860 Army was the principal sidearm of Union cavalry and one of the most iconic revolvers of the American Civil War. Revolvers in this mid-1862 serial range were produced during a critical period of expanded military demand and saw widespread service.
A solid, matching Civil War Colt with strong eye appeal and classic battlefield presence.
