Confederate Alteration to Belt Plate – Inventory Number: CON 197 / SOLD This very rare eagle plate is outfitted with three iron prongs on the reverse.   The prongs are arranged perpendicular to the eagle on the back indicating its use as a belt buckle, rather than a breast plate.  This example was recovered New Kent County, Virginia.
