Description

Confederate Revolver Holster from the Texas Civil War Museum

Classic Confederate revolver holster featuring the distinctive tab-style flap closure encountered on a number of Southern-made sidearm holsters. Constructed of blackened leather and exhibiting the utilitarian workmanship characteristic of Confederate production, the holster retains its original belt loop and closure tab. Accompanied by an old collection tag noting its origin from Houston and later inclusion in the renowned Texas Civil War Museum collection.

The holster displays honest field wear, with the toe worn away from use and age, and several seams having opened where the original stitching has deteriorated. Despite these condition issues, the form and construction remain readily identifiable, and the leather retains an attractive, untouched appearance with excellent period character. Confederate revolver holsters remain among the most desirable Southern leather accoutrements, and this example offers strong display appeal, documented provenance, and unmistakable wartime Confederate construction.
