Description

Confederate Shell from Gettysburg – Inventory Number: ART 254 / SOLD Original Confederate, 12-pound, spherical case-shot, lead side-loader shell as found in the Gettysburg battlefield.  This projctile retains its original brass time fuse adapter.  Adjacent to the fuse adapter is a lead plug.  This opening was where small round canister balls (case-shot) were poured into the side loader shell cavity until filled and speciment has a pitted exterior amd wears a light film of rust as well as a wonderful brown patina overall.   Inventory Number: ART 254 / SOLD
