Virginia state seal button featuring the iconic image of Virtus standing over the fallen tyrant with the Latin motto Sic Semper Tyrannis encircling the design. This gilt brass button retains strong detail and attractive period patina. The reverse is marked Horstmann & Allen, Philadelphia. Complete with its original copper shank. A classic and highly desirable Southern state button, suitable for display or advanced Civil War button collections.

 

Comes housed in 5 x 6 riker display case with blue velvet and descriptive card.
