Early Brass Device – SOLD Bears the Latin motto: “Honi soit qui mal y pense” translated to “Evil unto him who thinks evil of it”  which is the Motto of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.   Mounted on wood, measures approximately 4 1/8 x 2 1/2inches.  The Most Noble Order of the Garter, founded in 1348, is the highest order of chivalry and the third most prestigious honor in England and the UK.  It is dedicated to the image and arms of Saint George, England’s patron saint.   Inventory Number: MIS 003 / SOLD
