Excavated U.S. Cartridge Box Plate, from Falmouth, Virginia  – Inventory Number: BEL 366 / Sold From Falmouth, Virginia Dug U.S. box plate in very good condition. It still has one iron attachment loop and retains 100 percent of the lead backing. The face has sharp detail and a slick, dark brown patina. Excavated in Falmouth, Virginia, site of the Army of the Potomac’s encampment during the winter of 1862-1863. A nice example with great character.
