Union Veteran’s Gand Army of the Republic Coat Button, “GAR”, officer, staff, with backmark, “Horstmann Bros & CO. Phil”. The Grand Army of the Republic was formed after the war representing Union veterans. Has script “GAR” upon lined field on the face of the button. The reverse of the button has a backmark of, “HORSTMANN BROS & CO. PHIL”. Three-part staff officer style button, coat size, gilded. All non-dug examples.
