Grand Army of the Republic Delegate Ribbon, 22nd Department Encampment, Logansport, Indiana

22nd Department Encampment, Logansport, Indiana – May 15–16, 1901 Silk ribbon was issued to delegates attending the 22nd Department Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) in Logansport, Indiana, in 1901. The ribbon features a gold-embossed header marked “G.A.R.” with a cream field printed in red, black, and gold. The central imagery depicts two Union soldiers standing before crossed flags and a radiant emblem symbolizing national unity. The word “DELEGATE” appears prominently above the scene, denoting the ribbon’s function as an official identifier for a participating representative. The G.A.R. was a fraternal organization composed of Union veterans of the American Civil War. Its annual encampments served not only as reunions but also as forums for political and commemorative activities.
