Great Identified Civil War Confederate Tin Drum Canteen – Inventory Number:  CON 544 / SOLD Measures 6″ diameter, 2″ deep, rather sturdy, with tin spout. Covered with two layers of coarse weave brown wool. A few holes on the outer cover clearly reveal in inner cover underneath. Three sling loops which are slit for access oof the sling loops. Handstitched across the front face of the canteen/cover is “T. Bush”. The commonality of the name makes specific identification impossible, but absolutely period. The exterior cover on the face of the canteen reveals a few approx. 1/2″ holes that actually appear to be the result of wear/use rather than insect damage. The remainder of the cover in about perfect condition, just showing its great age. An exceptional Confederate tin drum canteen.                 Inventory Number:  CON 544 / SOLD
