Hand Carved Soldier’s Pipe 

 

Wonderfully executed hand carved wood pipe of civil war soldier.  The large pipe bowl depicts a bearded soldier with Kepi in great detail.  The bowl is charred and shows use.  The original stem which is constructed of a hollowed branch with bark is present, the top side was threaded for a mouthpiece which is lacking.   An absolutely stunning example of soldier’s art and an article of comfort in the field. Overall length 11 inches, stem measures 7inches, bowl height and width 4 inches.
