Identified Civil War Soldiers Wood Cribbage Board

 

Handmade cribbage board with playing pieces owned by private Anthony O’Donnell of the second regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. The board is in good condition. Soldier’s name is stencil on the back of the board as per the information that came with the item. Private O’Donnell was 34 years old in a stone cutter from Boston when he enlisted with a second MVI Regiment on May 25, 1861 on February 22, 1862 he was transferred to the US Navy for gun boat service. Additional research is likely available. Item was purchased at an estate auction that included other games owned and carried by Civil War soldiers of the Civil War.
